Short version: Sociologist, college professor, inquisitor, book lover, foodie and dog fanatic!
Long version: Originally from Germany, I moved back to San Diego after living in Hawai’i for over 10 years. After transferring from Southwestern Community College, I studied sociology at the University of California San Diego from which I graduated with distinction. I continued my higher education at the University of Hawai’i at Manoa, graduating with a PhD in Sociology. The title of my dissertation is "Slow Food: A Globalized Social Movement with an Anti-Globalization Mission." I had the opportunity to teach a variety of classes over the years ranging from Introduction to Sociology, Survey of Social Change and Globalization, Race and Ethnicity, Survey of Urban Sociology, The Sociology of Popular Culture, Research Methods, Social Stratification and Inequality, to Statistics for the Social Sciences (and many more).
