Otay Lakes Road Construction to Cause Delays, Closure of Entrances

The City of Chula Vista’s expansion of Otay Lakes Road will cause delays and closure of entrances at Southwestern College. Commuters should expect a 15-minute delay from approximately June 17 to August 3, due to the road closures and the rerouting of traffic during construction.
The Elmhurst Street entrance will be completely closed to pedestrians, bicycles and vehicles from Monday June 17, 5 a.m. to approximately July 2. The Gotham Street entrance will be completely closed from July 2 to approximately July 17.
Additionally, the Otay Lakes Road entrance at the south end of the campus into student Lots B and C (across from “Jack In the Box”) will be closed from July 18 to approximately August 3.
All MTS Bus routes will continue as scheduled but will make their stops on Otay Lakes Road during construction, and will not be entering the Southwestern College campus.
