Pesticide License Exam Preparation class added to Fall Schedule

Get prepared to pass the California Pesticide License Exam!

Did you know that if you apply pesticides in the State of California "for hire", then you must be licensed as a California Pesticide Certified Applicator?  Yes, even if you are a landscape gardener and you apply something as simple as snail bait, then you must be licensed to do so.

So, most employees and landscape business owners that want to include pest control as part of their business must take and pass the California Pesticide License Exam.  The next exam that is reasonably located near San Diego will be given in Long Beach on October 29th and 30th.  Persons interested in taking this exam must register no later than September 13th.

Fortunately, Southwestern College's Landscape and Nursery Technology program will be offering the LNT 85 - Pesticide License Exam Preparation class.  The class is schedule over 4 straight Friday evenings, from 5:00 pm to 9:20 pm on the dates of August 22, 29, Sept 5, and 12.  The class is worth one unit of college credit.  Students will be provided with the state application in class so they can get it submitted before the deadline.

The class will be taught by Bill Homyak, recently retired professor of Landscape and Nursery Technology, who has trained hundreds of local landscapers and gardeners in passing this exam.

To register, visit the college website at www.swccd.edu and click on Apply and Register.  The course is LNT 85 60 and has the section # of 91077.

For more information, email the instructor, Bill Homyak, at whomyak@swccd.edu
