Southwestern College Submits Accreditation Midterm Report
Southwestern College submitted its midterm report
to the Accrediting Commission for Community and
Junior Colleges during the fourth quarter of 2012.
The report reflects an inclusive effort of staff and
faculty as well as student review and input.
Southwestern College has thoroughly and effectively
reviewed our progress in meeting and exceeding the
Commission’s standards.

We received the ACCJC response to our Midterm
Report. The commission has accepted our report
and noted the good work we are doing. The report reflects the hard work of everybody on campus.

Accredited since 1964, Southwestern College is the only public institution of higher education in
southern San Diego County, serving approximately 400,000 residents of communities including Bonita,
Chula Vista, Imperial Beach, National City, Nestor, Otay Mesa, Palm City, San Ysidro, Sunnyside and
Coronado. The College District offers more than 312 associate degree and certificate options.
Southwestern College students can:
- take classes for credit;
- complete vocational programs;
- transfer their credits to another college;
- earn degrees and certificates, and;
- get financial aid and other student services.
