Welcome to the School of Continuing Education, Economic and Workforce Development! Our mission is to support and strengthen our local and regional economy through community, economic, and workforce development by providing relevant and responsive programs that actively engage individuals and businesses to develop academically, professionally, and economically through the application of high quality educational services and resources.  

Within our school, we have departments that provide for the aforementioned services, to include,customized industry/business training, business development- learning and personal growth opportunies. The school is responsible for coordination with federal, state, and local employment and retraining programs, as well as with other economic development agencies. These efforts are centralized through participation in the South County Career Center (SCCC) and our CalWORKs Program.

The Continuing Education Office (CE) provides local employers and community members with a wide variety of interesting courses, programs and contract services. Courses are offered in career and personal development, family and parenting, health and safety, arts and crafts, fitness and recreation, business and computers, and much more.

The San Diego Contracting Opportunities Center (SDCOC) provides procurement counseling and technical assistance to small businesses in San Diego County, enabling their business clients to bid and win government contracts.

The San Diego Center for International Trade Development (CITD), offers education, technical assistance and training services to firms doing business, or seeking to do business, globally.  Services provided include, but are not limited to: free or low cost import and export education programs; one-on-one counseling; access to international trade shows; opportunities to join trade missions; self-service trade assistance through the California’s Leading portal for international business www.CITD.org. In addition, the CITD provides programs focused on Youth Entrepreneurship and international Logistics and Transportation Certificate/A.S. Degree Program.

The Small Business Development Center provides vital assistance leading to: job creation/retention, capital infusion & investment, increase in sales, reduction of costs, new loans and contracts - and increased market share. Face-to-face and online consulting are available.
